This book combines many of my interests into one story: rap/poetry, propaganda, mind-control, and the occult. It is a novelization of a screenplay I wrote 10+ years ago, and the themes seem to be even more relevant in today’s socio-poli-tech-entertainment climate. It is full of ideas and rap battles and hypnotism and eventually zombies, which I think is awesome.
In a dystopian world ruled by the sinister propaganda machine StatLife, the masses are kept in check through manipulation and control. Amidst this oppressive regime, a talented rapper named Atomic enters The Rapture, a high-stakes rap competition that doubles as a tool for propaganda, designed to sway the populace and uphold the status quo. But Atomic has a secret weapon: He can literally hypnotize people with his rhymes.
Each battle pushes Atomic to his mental and emotional limits, as he fights not only for victory but for the liberation of society’s mind and soul.
Guided by two rebellious allies—Seshat, a captivating and damaged seductress with a mysterious past, and Rousseau, a brilliant and vengeful linguist—Atomic embarks on a perilous journey to dismantle StatLife’s grip on reality.
